This will allow you to search for a solicitor by firm name, postcode, location, and area of law.

  • How do I make a complaint against a solicitor?

The Isle of Wight Law Society can act in a mediation capacity if you have a complaint against one of our members.  Complaints should be sent in writing to the Honorary Secretary April Ross c/o Isle of Wight Council, County Hall, Newport Isle of Wight PO30 1UD.

Alternatively, you can approach the Legal Complaints Service, which is a national organisation which investigates complaints about solicitors.  You can use this link to access their web pages.

Please use the link to the Legal Services Commission website where you get information about legal aid and a rough idea about your eligibility for legal aid.

Any Solicitor practising or living within the Isle of Wight and any Trainee Solicitor with a training contract within the Isle of Wight.

  • How do I become a member of the Isle of Wight Law Society?

Please complete the application form, available on this web site, and send it to the Honorary Secretary, together with the appropriate fee.  Cheques should be payable to ‘Isle of Wight Law Society’.

  • How much does it cost to become a member of the Isle of Wight Law Society?

Current fees are:

Partners £33 per annum
Assistant Solicitors and Employed Solicitors £22 per annum
Trainee Solicitors £11 per annum.
